Any kitchen will be more impressive when you put this solid and attractive island in it. The Bloc de Foyer Kitchen Island has a 5 inch thick butcher block work surface, made from a great looking American Cherry wood.A checkerboard pattern is created by cutting the wood and standing it on end, then gluing the pieces into place. No rods or staples are used. A Varnique finish protects the upper surface.
The bottom base of this kitchen island is made from maple and is painted black for a striking color combination. Featuring a pull-out drawer for utensils and a lower shelf for open storage, this island is a versatile addition to your kitchen. The legs even have two decorative notches cut out at the bottom. Order this island and make your kitchen work space more functional and beautiful.

All butcher block products must be oiled on all surfaces with a natural mineral oil at least once a month to protect the wood.
With a minimum amount of care and maintenance on your butcher block, you can lengthen the life of the top from 5 to 10 years.
DO NOT:
- Wash knives and forks or other utensils on the work surface of your top
- Wash your top with harsh detergents of any type
- Cut off ends, drill holes, make cutouts or otherwise deface tops...without refinishing exposed unfinished wood. Gurantee is void if tops are modified.
DO:
- Periodically (once every several weeks), depending upon use and household conditions, apply a heavy coat of mineral oil to the work surface of your top
CAUTION: Do not place butcher blocks near excessive heat (such as stove) without proper insulation between heat source and edge of the butcher block.
You can help preserve your butcher block by keeping your home humidified in the winter and by refreshing your butcher block often with oil.

- Wash out dishcloth in clear warm water, wring out, and go over surface again.
